Mountain West Ecological Consulting, Inc., a Utah corporation, has been specializing in vegetation resource issues since 1996. Mountain West Ecological Consulting, Inc. focuses on plant community description and evaluation which may entail wetland delineations, rare and endangered plant surveys, weed surveys, upland and riparian community typing and description, and revegetation prescription, monitoring, and recommendations in the western US, as necessary or required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in energy development and/or research projects. Mountain West Ecological Consulting, Inc. also performs environmental inspections and construction oversight pertaining to vegetation resource issues in construction situations. Various work experience includes cooperative work on oil and natural gas pipeline projects, mining projects, highway projects, golf courses, hazardous waste sites and spills, local municipal projects and various federal, state, and private agency projects.
Ramona Rukavina is the president and principal scientist of Mountain West Ecological Consulting, Inc. Ms. Rukavina is a plant ecologist and has been working in the natural resource field since 1980 and has worked on many energy development and research related projects in the western US during that time. Ms. Rukavina received a Bachelor's degree in biology from Utah State University in 1983. Ms. Rukavina also took two years of graduate level biology and ecology courses during her undergraduate education. Ms. Rukavina worked as an employee at Utah State University working on ecological research projects until 1989, and as a private consultant and subsequently principal of Mountain West Ecological Consulting, Inc. since that time.
Ramona Rukavina has designed, coordinated, and implemented wetland delineations, vegetation sampling, riparian vegetation restoration, upland and wetland vegetation monitoring, rare plant surveys, weed surveys, reclamation monitoring, environmental assessment, and environmental inspection construction oversight. These various projects have taken place in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Ms. Rukavina is certified by the Utah Office of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to delineate jurisdictional wetlands.
